Our desire to raise sheep started the process of developing a vision, reading lots of books, researching on the Internet, visiting sheep farms, talking, talking, talking ..... about..... fencing, shelters, breed selection, pasture, hay and grain, feeders, sheep health and on and on.
Five months later, after constant planning and without a lamb in sight, we set our first post hole and paced out the first paddock.
So in the beginning of the spring of 2000 we began....
First, we needed a sheep shelter........
.......and we obtained our first flock of ewe lambs from a local shepherd who has now become our sheep mentor. His lambs were Suffolk and Texel crosses.
It was now time to bring the new flock home.
